Dan Crenshaw, Retired Navy SEAL, runs through Congressional District to raise money for Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts

Houston, Texas – SGT P, Editor In Chief

Gruntworks met up with Dan Crenshaw, combat veteran and retired Navy SEAL, in his third day of running 100 miles through the Congressional District that he is campaigning for.  Lieutenant Commander Crenshaw (retired) is running for the United States Congressional 2nd Texas District against 8 other candidates…hoping to fill the seat being vacated by sitting Congressman Ted Poe.  Congressman Poe is retiring this year to spend time with his 11 grandchildren here in Texas.

Crenshaw hopes to raise money by running 100 miles.  In a heavily contested race, in which a few of the candidates have seemingly bottomless campaign coffers…one who is a sitting State Congressman, and another who has contributed to many politicians over the years…you would think that he is raising money for his campaign.  However, he and his wife told Gruntworks that this run is not raising money for his campaign.

In the video below, SGT P speaks with Dan and his wife Tara about why he is doing this and what he hopes to accomplish:

Early voting is happening now, and the primary election in Texas is March 6th.
