Gruntworks Media Bunker – The stabbing of Lieutenant Jeff Neville, a police officer at Bishop International Airport in Flint, Michigan, is being investigated as a terrorist attack by the FBI.
Amor Ftouhi, a 50-year-old Canadian citizen, emerged from a restroom at the airport around 9:45 am Wednesday morning brandishing a 12-inch knife with an 8-inch serrated blade, screamed “Allahu Akbar”, and stabbed Lt Neville in the neck. The attack took place outside of the TSA secure area of the airport.
FBI Special Agent In Charge David Gelios said in a news conference that Ftouhi was motivated to come to the airport and attack Neville out of a “hatred of the United States”. The terrorist entered the United States legally at Lake Champlain, N.Y. and then traveled to Flint to carry out the attack.
Although still bleeding severely from the neck after the attack, Lt Neville is reported to have subdued the terrorist and was being treated for his injuries after the attacker was handcuffed. Airport officials report that Lt Neville is in satisfactory condition at a local hospital.
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder asked everyone to “keep the attacked officer in your thoughts and prayers” on his Twitter account.
